The Heart of America played host to pickleball's most exciting stars at the 2026 APP Dillons Overland Park Open, with five championship matches electrifying the crowd and a national television audience.  

Tristan Dussault earned his first career APP Tour gold medal in dramatic fashion alongside Allison Harris in the mixed pro doubles final. Megan Fudge made pickleball history by winning her 33rd career APP Tour gold medal in women’s pro doubles alongside Kat Stewart, tying the all-time APP women’s career golds record. Stewart also earned her fourth women’s pro singles title of the season, Ammar Wazir added his third men’s pro singles gold of 2026, and the dynamic duo of Richard Livornese, Jr. and Jack Munro won their fifth straight men’s pro doubles title.

AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk played host to hundreds of players, ranging from the sport's elite pros, to the AARP Champions (50+) Pro Divisions, to the collegiate showcase featuring University of Kansas and University of Missouri, to amateur players of all ages and skill levels from the Kansas City area and beyond.  

To start the championship festivities, two of college sports’ fiercest rivals took to the courts for an exhibition showcase, with Kansas and Mizzou’s club pickleball teams facing one another in the Dillons Border Battle Showcase. Kansas took home the ultimate bragging rights after a hard-fought competition in men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The APP Selkirk Collegiate Series hosts the nation’s top club teams in competitions throughout the year, with more information available at TheAPP.global/Collegiate.

The hallmark of the inaugural event featured the APP Tour pros battling in five thrilling gold medal matches on a national stage to crown its champions.

Men’s Pro Doubles

Jack Munro and Richard Livornese, Jr. have cemented themselves as the most dominant men's doubles duo on tour, winning four straight titles heading into Overland Park. After some near-upsets along the way, Munro and Livornese, Jr. advanced to another gold medal match, facing Etienne Blaszkewycz and Callan Dawson in a rematch from Detroit back in August. Game one featured several lead changes, but Munro and Livornese, Jr. pulled away, 11-9. The duo then took game two, 11-2, to clinch their fifth consecutive men's doubles gold medals together.

“The consistency shows with five straight,” said Munro. “It’s not high highs and low lows – we have a consistent baseline, and it shows tournament after tournament.”

“I’m really grateful to play in front of a great crowd, at a great tournament, with a great friend,” Livornese added. “It doesn’t get better than this.”

Randy Blanco and Andre Millet won the men's pro doubles bronze medals.

Women's Pro Doubles

Top-seeds Megan Fudge and Katerina Stewart, a first-time partnership, faced off against a pair of first-time finalists, Glauka Carvajal-Lane and Amber Policare, in the women’s pro doubles final. Carvajal-Lane and Policare had a remarkable run in the bracket, taking down the No. 3 and No. 2 seed teams en route to the final. However, their run ended abruptly as Fudge and Stewart cruised in two games, 11-2, 11-0, to win the gold.

“I have to thank Kat, and all the partners I’ve had over the last four years,” said Fudge. “They’ve definitely carried me to get to this point, and I’m extremely grateful and feel very blessed. It’s been an incredible journey.”

“We had some good chemistry out there, and we both fought to the end,” added Stewart. “I’m happy we came out on top.”

Shelby Bates and Christine Maddox earned the women’s pro doubles bronze medals.

Men's Pro Singles

When it comes to championship matches, Ammar Wazir simply doesn’t lose. The Chicago native matched up against Tristan Dussault, who made his first career finals appearance on the APP Tour, to defend his perfect 5-0 record in gold medal matches. After some initial stalemates, Wazir would do just that, winning 11-5, 11-7, to keep his perfect championship record alive.

“I love playing on Championship Court,” said Wazir. When there’s fans and the energy is really high, my adrenaline kicks in. These are my favorite matches out of the year – the finals on Championship Court. There’s nothing better than this.”

Women's Pro Singles

In a rematch from the 2026 APP Vlasic Classic Cincinnati in June, the top-seeded Katerina Stewart took on two-seed Domenika Turkovic in the women’s pro singles final. Stewart, the defending champion from Detroit a few weeks ago, controlled game one and won 11-8. Stewart’s momentum carried her to a 6-1 start in game two, but Turkovic came roaring back with eight straight points to lead 9-6, and eventually win 11-8. Game three went back in favor of Stewart, who won 11-5 to secure her fourth women's singles gold of 2026 and second in a row.

“Domi was cooking me there for a second, so I just had to weather the storm a little bit,” Stewart said. “I had to stick with it through the end.”

Amber Policare earned the women’s pro singles bronze for her second medal of the tournament.

Mixed Pro Doubles

The mixed pro doubles final featured two-seeds Emilia Schmidt and Jack Munro against 21-seeds Allison Harris and Tristan Dussault, whose Cinderella run propelled them to a shot at the gold. Schmidt and Munro easily took game one, 11-3. Down 5-1 in game two, Harris and Dussault mounted off 10 straight points to win, 11-5. Munro and Schmidt regrouped and seized control of game three early, up 8-3. Harris and Dussault chipped away from there, and held off several match points down 10-7. Their effort never wavered, as they scored the final five points to win, 12-10, for the gold.

“I’m just so relaxed playing next to Tristan," Harris said following the win. "I feel like we beat five match points, but I was never worried.”

“The crowd really helped switch the tide of the match," added Dussault. "It was just great energy, and it makes me want to play better and as a team. We pick up on that energy, and it was such a fun match.”

Megan Fudge and Aidan Schenk took home the mixed pro doubles bronze medals.

AARP Champions (50+) Pro Action

The 2026 APP Dillons Overland Park Open also saw elite competition for the AARP Champions (50+) Division. Karin Ptaszek-Kochis and Youssef Bouzidi were the big winners, each taking home two gold medals. Carolina Lopez Ascarate secured a gold and two silvers, while Lee Whitwell, Dayne Gingrich and Tommy Ho also reached the top of the podium.
