The APP Tour, the official tour of pickleball, showcased the talents of the world's best professional players while supporting an amazing cause over five exciting days in its hometown event: the 2026 APP Vlasic Classic Chicago Benefiting Shriners Children's.

Eight of sport's best pros earned gold medals on Championship Sunday, highlighting the APP Tour's wealth of talent, but none were bigger than Ammar Wazir's men's singles title in his homecoming event. Jack Munro and Richard Livornese secured their third-straight men's pro doubles title, international star Roos Van Reek clinched her first career APP Tour gold medal alongside Vivian Glozman, Ronan Camron and Katerina Stewart paired up for mixed doubles gold, and Seone Mendez struck her first gold of the season with the women's singles title.

Danny Cunniff Park and Club Pickle & Padel in Highland Park played host to hundreds of players, ranging from the sport's elite pros, to the AARP Champions (50+) and Masters (60+) Pro Divisions, to the Humana Cup competition, to amateur players of all ages and skill levels from Chicago area and beyond. All medalists secured their spots in the 2026 USA Pickleball National Championships.

Shriners Children’s APP Pro Invitational Chicago

The pickleball festivities kicked off on August 5 in Highland Park with an epic, fast-paced night of pickleball featuring the world's best professional players in front of a raucous capacity crowd.

16 of the APP Tour’s top pickleball pros faced off in a spectacular mixed doubles showdown for a great cause, featuring unique twists such as an eight-minute timer, no time-outs, and Power Plays for double points, resulting in high-octane fun throughout.  

First, there were 12 pool play rounds to determine seeding for the ultimate Championship Final. In a thrilling match that came down to the final seconds, APP Tour pros Susannah Barr and Brandon Lane defeated Katerina Stewart and Ronan Camron, 9-8, to take home the title.

In total, $25,000 was raised for Shriners Children’s, the official charity partner of the APP.

As the page turned to August 6, the full APP Tour pro ranks began a four-day tournament to crown its champions.

Women's Pro Singles

First up on Championship Court was women’s pro singles, with Seone Mendez and Domenika Turkovic each seeking their first APP Tour gold medal of the season. Turkovic seized control early with an 11-6 game one win. Mendez, looking to avenge her championship loss in Sacramento a few short months ago, dug deep and responded with 11-3 wins in games two and three to win the match and her first gold of 2026.

Katerina Stewart won the women’s pro singles bronze medal.

Men's Pro Singles

Chicago’s own Ammar Wazir took the court against 2026 APP Selkirk U.S. Collegiate champion with Florida Atlantic, Jayden Broderick, for the men’s pro singles final. Wazir, who won an electrifying final in his hometown event in 2025, had his mind set on a repeat as he dominated game one, 11-2. Wazir’s momentum paved the way from there, winning game two 11-2 to clinch his second APP Tour gold medal of the season and second year in a row with gold in Chicago.

Ronan Camron won the men’s pro singles bronze medal.

Mixed Pro Doubles

Katerina Stewart and Ronan Camron, the two No. 1-ranked singles pros for their respective genders on the APP Tour, paired up for a mixed pro doubles run to the final against Carlota Trevino and Randy Blanco, making their first finals appearance as a duo. Stewart and Camron’s combined singles expertise proved too much for Trevino and Blanco to overcome, as they won 11-5 and 11-6 for the title. The win marked Stewart and Camron’s first mixed pro doubles medals of 2026.

Megan Fudge and Aidan Schenk took home the mixed pro doubles bronze medals.

Men's Pro Doubles

Top men’s pro doubles seeds Jack Munro and Richard Livornese, Jr. looked to channel the 90’s Bulls and secure a three-peat in Chicago, facing off against Vietnamese standout Quang Duong and Patrick Kawka. Game one was neck-and-neck throughout, with Duong and Kawka escaping with an 11-9 win. Munro and Livornese, Jr. regrouped and cruised in game two, 11-2. Game three was once again close early, but Munro and Livornese, Jr. pulled away late and won 11-6 to clinch the gold – their third straight together on the APP Tour.

David Bieger and Zack Marceau took home the men’s pro doubles bronze medals.

Women’s Pro Doubles

To put a thrilling capstone on the championship slate, Vivian Glozman and Roos Van Reek battled Amanda Hendry and Emilia Schmidt in the women’s pro doubles final. The match went the distance, with three highly competitive games. Glozman and Van Reek took game one 11-8, before Hendry and Schmidt responded with an 11-8 win of their own in game two. The third game came down to the wire, with Glozman and Van Reek sneaking by, 11-9, for their first APP Tour gold medals as a duo.

The Australian duo of Nicola Schoeman and Selina Turulja won the women’s pro doubles bronze medals.

AARP Champions and Masters Pro Action
The 2026 APP Vlasic Classic Chicago Benefiting Shriners Children’s also saw elite competition for the AARP Champions Division (50+) and Masters Division (60+). For complete tournament results, visit here.
