After a standout season opener in Seattle, the APP Tour returns to action in one of our favorite cities: Sacramento. For the fifth year in a row, hundreds of pickleball players from across the globe will head to Johnson Ranch Sports Club in Roseville, CA this week for the 2026 APP Sacramento Open Benefiting Shriners Children’s. Kicking off proceedings in Roseville will be a truly historic first-of-its-kind APP pro event, the 2026 Shriners Children’s APP Pro Invitational – read on for more details on that!

On Wednesday, Apr. 29, the world's best pros will battle for ultimate bragging rights at the first-ever Shriners Children's APP Pro Invitational. Men's and women's doubles pairings will compete against one another in a one-of-a-kind event, all supporting an amazing cause. Each team will face each other in Power Rounds to determine seedings for the Championship Rounds, where the ultimate men’s and women’s champions will be determined. There’s sure to be a pickleball gold rush on the APP Tour as amateurs of all ages, the sport’s elite professionals and the AARP Champions (50+) and Masters (60+) divisions compete for ranking points, prize money and plenty of hardware leading up to a national TV broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

The APP is especially proud to host this event in support of an amazing cause - Shriners Children's - the official charity partner of the APP. The world-renowned health care system provides life-saving care for children regardless of the families’ ability to pay.

The APP Sacramento Open Benefiting Shriners Children’s is once again a USA Pickleball Golden Ticket event, meaning gold medalists earn the right to secure their spot at the 2026 USAP National Championships.  

Without further ado, here are the top pro storylines heading into the 2026 APP Sacramento Open Benefiting Shriners Children’s.

SOFIA THE FIRST

Top-ranked Sofia Sewing led all APP Tour women's pros with 13 gold medals in 2025, and took home her first of the season in Seattle, winning the women's doubles title alongside Megan Fudge.

SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND

Casey Diamond shone bright in Seattle, winning gold medals in both men's doubles with Aidan Schenk and mixed doubles with Vivian Glozman. Diamond pairs up again with Schenk in men's doubles, and with Sofia Sewing in mixed doubles in Sacramento.

FUDGE ON TOP

Megan Fudge is the APP Tour's all-time leader in total career medals (86), and is now two gold medals away from tying Simone Jardim for the most career women's pro gold medals (33).

GREEN IS GOLD

Max Green struck gold in Seattle by winning the men's pro singles title, defeating Ronan Camron. The win marked Green's first career APP Tour gold medal.

KAT'S GOT CLAWS

Katerina Stewart reached the top of the podium for the first time in 2026 as she took home the women's pro singles title in Seattle. Stewart ranks No. 2 in the APP World Rankings in women's singles, and looks to defend her title in Sacramento.

INTERNATIONAL STARS TAKE THE STAGE

Two of pickleball's most successful international pros are gearing up for their first APP Tour event of the season. Quang Duong, Asia's top pro, returns for his first event since 2023, and Roos Van Reek, the No. 1 Dutch pro, is set for her U.S. APP Tour debut. You won't want to miss them!

VICTORY FOR VIVIAN

In her hometown of Seattle, Vivian Glozman put on a show as she won the mixed pro doubles gold medal alongside Casey Diamond - her first APP Tour gold since 2023.

JACK ATTACK

Jack Munro led all APP Tour pros with 14 gold medals in 2025, and looks to earn his first of the season in Sacramento as the No. 1 men's doubles seed alongside Richard Livornese, Jr.

THRICE AS NICE

Bobbi Oshiro reached the podium three times in Seattle, taking home silver in women's pro singles, and bronze in both women's pro doubles and mixed pro doubles. Oshiro won two gold medals in Sacramento in 2025, including the women's pro doubles title with Susannah Barr and the mixed pro doubles title.

AMAZING AIDAN

Aidan Schenk won his first gold medal of the season in Seattle last time out, and returns to the site of his first career APP Tour medal, Sacramento, where he won men's pro doubles bronze in 2025.
