Finale at The Fort
All you need to know from the 2025 GEICO APP Tour Championships
The 2025 APP Tour has reached its final destination, and it’s a familiar one. After a long journey across 2025 for the Tour, APP Next, APP Selkirk Collegiate Series, international events and more, the season finale is upon us: the GEICO APP Tour Championships.
Hundreds of pickleball players from around the world will compete at the APP’s global headquarters, The Fort, on Dec. 9-14. Amateurs of all ages, the AARP Champions and Masters Divisions, the Humana Cup and the sport’s elite professionals will look to place an exclamation mark on an exciting and historic season. As an APP Tour Major event, enhanced player points, prize money and medals are up for grabs on a national TV broadcast on ESPN2.
With one more epic event in store for the season, the APP Tour pros are ready for action. Here are the top pro storylines heading into the 2025 GEICO APP Tour Championships.
SOFIA THE FIRST
Sofia Sewing, the No. 1 ranked women's singles pro on tour, has been nothing short of unstoppable lately. Sewing won her fourth consecutive women's singles gold, and eighth overall, in Mesa, plus a silver in women's doubles. Sewing won big at the AARP Open back in October with two golds and a bronze. Sewing ranks second overall among APP Tour pros with 21 total medals and 12 golds.
FUDGE ON TOP
Megan Fudge heads to The Fort as the APP Tour's all-time leader in total career medals (83), and is fresh off a two-gold performance at the APP Mesa Open with titles in women's and mixed doubles.
LUCKY NUMBER 13
In Mesa, Jack Munro brought home another mixed pro doubles title alongside Megan Fudge for his 13th gold medal of the season, leading all APP Tour pros. Munro owns the top seeds in both men's doubles (with Will Howells) and mixed doubles (with Fudge) in Fort Lauderdale.
RONAN ON A ROLL
2025 APP U.S. National Team member Ronan Camron had a tournament to remember in Mesa, winning his first career gold medal as the men's pro singles champion. Camron is back in his home state of Florida and will look to defend his men's singles title.
BRAVERMANIA
Jill Braverman earned another women's pro doubles title alongside Megan Fudge in Mesa - the duo's sixth together in 2025. The Newport Beach, Calif. native ranks third among APP Tour women's pros with 16 total medals and seven golds in 2025, and reunites with Fudge as the top seeds in Fort Lauderdale.
WILL POWER
Will Howells is tied for the lead among all men's APP Tour pros with 18 total medals in 2025 alongside his men's doubles partner Jack Munro. Howells and Jack Munro took home the men's pro doubles title at the AARP Open in Fort Lauderdale back in October.
OSHIRO ALL DAY
Bobbi Oshiro, a resident of nearby Plantation, Fla., ranks fourth among APP Tour women's pros with 14 total medals and six golds. Oshiro earned silver in mixed doubles at the APP Mesa Open with Will Howells, and the duo also brought home silver at the AARP Open in Fort Lauderdale in October.
PURPLE POWER
The Pacific Northwest duo of Max "Purple Jesus" Manthou and Erik Lange struck gold at the APP Mesa Open, securing their first men's doubles title of the season. Manthou and Lange are back in action as the No. 2 seeds in men's doubles in Fort Lauderdale.
THE AMANDA SHOW
Amanda Hendry has been impressively versatile as of late in women's doubles, medaling in each of her past four tournaments - with four different partners. The former All-American field hockey goalie earned three bronzes and one silver, and has sights set on gold in the season finale.
BREAKOUT STARS RETURN
The APP Mesa Open saw breakout performances from several pro players, showing that there's always new talent emerging on the APP Tour. Robert Slutsky and Zack Taylor made their first Championship Sunday appearance as a team in men's pro doubles, taking home the silver medal. In women's pro singles, Trang Huynh-McClain earned bronze for her first career APP Tour medal. All three competitors return to action in Fort Lauderdale
