The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) are pleased to welcome the Detroit Sports Commission and ABC Warehouse as community partners of the 2026 APP Detroit Open, held Aug. 20–23 at Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, Michigan.

The Detroit Sports Commission joins the APP in bringing Metro Detroit's premier pro and amateur pickleball community event to the city for the first time. The nonprofit organization works to enhance the region’s economy and image by attracting and hosting regional, national and international amateur sporting events.

Vibe Credit Union Showplace provides a fantastic venue for this event, and we're proud to partner with the APP to bring world-class competition to Southeast Michigan," said Marty Dobek, Executive Director of the Detroit Sports Commission. "This tournament reinforces the Detroit Sports Commission's commitment to attracting high-profile sporting events that inspire participation, drive visitation and leave a lasting legacy in our region."

ABC Warehouse, a trusted Michigan-based retailer of appliances, televisions, mattresses and furniture, will also support the tournament as a community partner. With deep roots across Michigan, ABC Warehouse will help the APP connect with local fans and welcome players of all ages and skill levels to the event. In addition, thanks to funding by ABC Warehouse & APP, the organizations will partner with Michigan Humane to bring dogs and puppies up for adoption on Sunday, Aug. 23 for fans to enjoy.

The 2026 APP Detroit Open will feature four days of elite professional and amateur pickleball competition at Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi. Players of all ages and skill levels will have the opportunity to compete at the same event as many of the world’s best pros, while fans can experience singles, doubles and mixed doubles competition culminating in Championship Sunday’s gold-medal matches on Aug. 23 with live coverage on ESPN Plus.  

The indoor tournament will offer a lively fan experience featuring championship-level pickleball, music, food, a Sponsor Village with free giveaways and more.
