National Pickleball Series to Expand Pro Player Pathway Launched with Pickleball Kingdom
National competition platform allows players to compete locally, earn APP Tour ranking points and advance into APP pro events
The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) and Pickleball Kingdom today announced the APP Moneyball Series, a new national competition series created to expand competitive opportunities for pro and aspiring pro pickleball players around the world.
Built around the campaign “Compete locally. Rank nationally. Rise to the APP,” the APP Moneyball Series will bring APP Tour-standard professional competitions to Pickleball Kingdom locations across the U.S. and eventually around the world.
Players will compete in three divisions – men's and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles – while earning prize money and APP Tour ranking points based on their results, accelerating the pathway to competing in APP national or international events.
By partnering with Pickleball Kingdom, the APP is creating a broader national footprint than any one organization could deliver alone. The collaboration combines APP’s professional tour platform, player pathway, ranking infrastructure and national brand with the local reach, facilities, staff and community databases of one of pickleball’s most recognizable venue operators.
“We’re incredibly excited to work with Pickleball Kingdom to create new, credible and scalable entry points into the APP for players across the country,” said Ken Herrmann, founder of the APP. “There are talented and ambitious pickleball players in communities everywhere who are looking for opportunities to test themselves and take that next step. The APP Moneyball Series brings that opportunity closer to home through a direct connection to the APP, creating an important pathway for the next generation of APP players.”
For the APP, the Moneyball Series represents a significant expansion of its world-renowned player-development ecosystem that includes the APP Academy and APP Next, giving emerging professionals and high-level local players more places to compete between major APP Tour stops. For Pickleball Kingdom, the series creates a turnkey competitive programming platform that can bring new players into their venues and reinforce their leading position as a local hub for pickleball.
“This partnership brings together two organizations that share a real commitment to growing the sport and creating more opportunities for players,” said Mitch Kistner, Chief Marketing Officer of Pickleball Kingdom. “By connecting Pickleball Kingdom’s premier indoor clubs with the APP’s national platform, we’re creating a clear and exciting path for players to compete close to home, challenge themselves and see how far their skills can take them. At the same time, it gives the APP the opportunity to reach even more players through our growing network of premier indoor clubs. We believe this partnership will allow players to play in our perfect indoor conditions, that will deliver meaningful value to players at every level.”
The APP Moneyball Series expands on the APP’s existing player-development relationships with Pickleball Kingdom, who joined forces in 2026 to create a pathway for Pickleball Kingdom Paddle Battle winners to compete on the APP Tour.
Each APP Moneyball Series event will feature professional divisions across three days:
