The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) is proud to announce several community partnerships ahead of the second annual pickleball event dedicated to celebrating and honoring women, the 2025 APP Women’s Open presented by The James.

Returning as the official presenting partner of the three-day APP Showcase Series event is The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James). As one of the nation’s top cancer research and treatment centers, the OSUCCC – James will collaborate with the APP to promote the growth of pickleball, share cancer prevention messages, and highlight sun safety in the Sunscreen Time Out Lounge presented by The James.

Additionally, don’t miss the uplifting “Who Do You Dink For” moment, honoring patients, survivors, caregivers, and those we have lost to cancer. The APP recently established the APP Women’s Cancer Fund at The James, which supports research and treatment of breast, gynecologic, and other cancers affecting women. Various elements of the APP Women’s Open, such as ticket sales and custom merchandise, will raise funds for this critical initiative.

Another hallmark partnership that returns in 2025 will be Victoria’s Secret & Co. The global fashion retailer will present the “Dream Big Summit,” a special panel designed to connect, inspire and uplift dozens of young women – high school and college age – and create a conversation around self-confidence, self-advocacy and other themes.

CAS, A division of the American Chemical Society, will partner with the OSUCCC – James and the APP to host a special private educational community lecture as part of its ongoing CAS Community Educational Lecture Series. The event will feature a discussion on breast cancer research and treatment, followed by a meet-and-greet with a professional APP Tour player competing in the APP Women’s Open presented by The James.
 
Longtime APP sponsor AARP, the nation’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering people 50 and older to choose how they live as they age, will host a pickleball clinic for more than 50 community members on the Saturday evening of the tournament.
 
Additional event sponsors bringing hospitality and other on-site activations include City Wide Facility Solutions of Columbus, Charles Smith Wines, Humana, iNCREDIWEAR, OWL, and Toyota, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
 
Coinciding with the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the 2025 APP Women’s Open pres. by The James takes place October 3-5. Pickle & Chill in Columbus, Ohio, the largest dedicated indoor/outdoor pickleball facility in the Midwest, will host the first-of-its-kind pickleball event. Founded in November 2022, Pickle & Chill features 19 total courts, a 30,000-square-foot event plaza, and an indoor bar and mezzanine space.
