Queen City welcoming APP Vlasic Classic Cincinnati to Sawyer Point for fourth straight year
The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) has announced a partnership with the Cincinnati Regional Sports Commission as an official marketing partner of the upcoming APP Vlasic Classic in Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Regional Sports Commission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2024 to position the Cincinnati region as a premier sports destination. Through collaboration among corporate, tourism, public, and community partners, the Commission works to attract and retain sporting events that generate economic impact, increase visitation, and enhance the quality of life for residents throughout the region.
Now in its fourth year at the city’s iconic riverfront facility Sawyer Point, the APP Vlasic Classic Cincinnati represents the third APP Tour event on the 2026 slate. The world’s best professional players, plus hundreds of amateur players of all ages and skill levels, will take the courts June 11-14 for nonstop pickleball action, culminating with five pro gold medal matches on Championship Sunday in front of a national television audience. Beyond just a tournament, the event will be a four day-long celebration of pickleball, with programming for all. Fans can watch the world’s best pros battle for gold, try the sport for themselves, enjoy food and beverages, giveaways, music, and more.
“The APP is thrilled to be back in Cincinnati for one of our favorite tour stops of the year, and to be working alongside our friends at Cincy Sports,” said APP Chief Revenue Officer Ryan McSpadden. “The APP Vlasic Classic gets bigger and better every year, and the Cincinnati riverfront will be the best place to watch the world’s best pickleball pros this June, with plenty of exciting action, food and drink, and fun activities for all to enjoy.”
"We are excited to welcome the APP Tour back to the Cincinnati region and showcase our community on a national stage," said Ben Huffman, Executive Director of the Cincinnati Regional Sports Commission. "Pickleball's incredible growth makes this a tremendous opportunity to attract visitors, generate economic impact, and highlight why Cincinnati continues to be a premier destination for major sporting events."
