The APP Sacramento Open has been nominated for the Best Pickleball Tournament for Fans as part of the 2026 USA TODAY Sports Readers’ Choice Awards.  

Hosted annually at Johnson Ranch Sports Club in Roseville, Calif. since 2022, the APP Sacramento Open has become the annual premier community event for pickleball in the Northern California Bay Area and a hallmark of the APP Tour, the Association of Pickleball Players’ (APP) pro circuit.

Fans can vote for the APP Sacramento Open once per day via TheAPP.global/Vote, now through Monday, June 1 at 11:59 am ET. The award winners will be announced by USA TODAY on Wednesday, June 10.

The 2026 APP Sacramento Open Benefiting Shriners Children’s (Apr. 30-May 3) showcased the world’s best pickleball pros to a nationally televised audience and welcomed hundreds of amateur players of all ages and skill levels. Spectators tried their hands in the APP Pickleball Playground courts featuring beginner and intermediate target drills, Beat the Pro, and Champ of the Court. Adding in dozens of sponsor activations and giveaways, VIP lounges, food and drink, live music and more, the APP Sacramento Open was the place to be in pickleball, with something for everyone.
