Chris Haworth has been a mainstay on Championship Sunday in 2024 and this one will be no different. Haworth faces off with Grayson Goldin for gold in men’s pro singles in what will be a rematch of the Zimmer Biomet APP New York City Open back in May when Haworth pulled off a narrow victory over Goldin. The kicker here? Haworth and Golden have become friends and were partners in the men’s pro doubles event on Saturday.

What’s Up, Roomie?

Mari Humberg and her partner, Amanda Hendry will take on Bobbi Oshiro and Susannah Barr for women’s pro doubles gold and this is a quartet that know each other well. Humberg and Barr have played together multiple times this year, recently earning bronze in women’s pro doubles at The OWL APP Newport Beach Open back in July. In Chicago However, it’s Oshiro and Humberg that are roommates and sharing accommodations in the Windy City. Winner gets a gold medal and dibs on the shower?

A similar situation will occur in the mixed pro doubles gold medal match as Humberg and her partner Eric Oncins will take on Yana Newell and Will Howells. Newell and Howells finished fourth in Delray Beach earlier this year but this is a first-time partnership for the Brazilian duo of Humberg and Oncins. Roommates in this match are Howells and Oncins, which should make this interesting. Loser buys dinner?

Queen Bees

Megan Fudge and Simone Jardim are two of the most iconic and recognizable figures on the APP Tour and they will play each other for the women’s pro singles title. Fudge leads all APP pros with 16 medals on the year and looks to add her seventh gold of 2024. Jardim won the women’s pro singles title in Cincinnati, which makes this a matchup of the two most recent women’s pro singles champs as Fudge won in New York City and Newport Beach.

Champs All Around

Men’s pro doubles will round out our Championship Sunday lineup and it will be Howells and his partner, CJ Klinger, taking on Rob Nunnery and Jack Munro. Howells leads all APP men’s pros with 10 medals on the year and he and Klinger already have a gold and a bronze in men’s pro doubles to their credit in 2024. Munro and Nunnery are no strangers to men’s pro doubles titles either, as Munro won in New York City with Mario Barrientos, and Nunnery won just before that in Cincinnati with Ryler DeHeart. This battle of men’s pro doubles champs will be a good one.
